Netflix – What to Watch Whilst Hunkering Down

Netflix has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a series, a film or a documentary to watch. However, you can spend forever searching for something to watch and before you know it, you’ve spent two hours aimlessly scrolling and watching trailers and have gotten absolutely nowhere in your search.

That’s where we step in! We’ve put together some of the best series on Netflix right now, perfect for keeping you entertained during lockdown. Let’s take a look at our binge-worthy faves…

Money Heist

Money Heist is a Netflix Original and defo my favourite series on Netflix. This is a four-part Spanish series, with its fourth season premiered on 3rd April 2020, so there’s plenty of episodes for you to catch up on.

A criminal mastermind, The Professor, has created a plan to pull off a heist at the Royal Mint of Spain, along with the help of his carefully selected recruits. In a tense battle between the thieves, hostages and the police, watch in awe as the story unravels and you get deeper and deeper into the action of the heist.

From the extremely clever storyline and the fast-paced action to the incredibly talented cast, Money Heist is a great escape from your lockdown boredom.

Why not give it a watch and let us know what you think?

Tiger King

Tiger King was a new edition to Netflix last month and it’s already a firm favourite with Brits across the country. This true-crime docu-series covers the bizarre big cat scene in America and follows a feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, who both appear to have a few secrets of their own...

If you’re looking for something a bit quirky, this is the show for you.

Gavin & Stacey

Gavin & Stacey is an award-winning British sitcom which is shown on Netflix, as well as BBC iPlayer. Written by James Corden and Ruth Jones, this series tells the tale of a romance between a young man from Essex and a young woman from Wales and the friendships that form between their two families.

Already watched it? Watch it again! Binge-watching Gavin & Stacey is the perfect way to beat those lockdown blues. An endlessly rewatchable comedy, this is sure to have you in fits of laughter.

Love is Blind

Love is Blind is another great recent addition to Netflix, following a group of hopeful singles who get engaged without having ever seen each other face to face. This fascinating experiment testing whether an emotional connection is enough follows each couple down the aisle to see who will say ‘yes’ at the altar.

Netflix has renewed Love is Blind for a second and third season and we cannot wait for the drama to continue!

Sex Education

Sex Education follows the journeys of students, their parents and their school teachers in two entertaining seasons. Whilst this teen show, set in the UK and filmed in Wales, is a great source of comedy to liven up your evenings, it also approaches some important topical issues in a heartwarming way.

If you want a laugh, you need to watch this!

Orange is the New Black

Orange is the New Black first debuted back in 2013 and seven seasons later, its successful run has come to an end. This women’s prison drama follows Piper Chapman, her journey in a minimum-security prison and everyone she meets along the way.

You

If you didn’t succumb to the You-hype when this series was first released, now is the perfect time. This American psychological thriller follows the story of a young man who meets an aspiring writer and develops a toxic obsession for her. A dangerous romance develops between the two, leading to (SPOILER ALERT!) Joe starting afresh with a new identity in Season 2.

You Season 3 is aiming for a 2021 release, keep an eye out!
