Swingers - London's First Crazy Golf Bar

 

Last week, me and a couple of my friends got together for lunch and drinks at Swingers (London’s first crazy golf venue). As neither of us had done anything like this before, we weren’t sure what to expect. Despite getting lost using Google maps, we got there in the end.

Needless to say we were all pleasantly surprised, as the décor looked amazing! It was very glam inside but had a nice casual vibe. There was a mixture of velvet plush sofas, wooden benches and plastic chairs. So no matter the occasion, it could match your needs. We popped in just after Wednesday lunch time and it was busy. I can only imagine what it would be like in the evening after work.

You went to the bar area to order food and drinks, then when your order popped up on the screen (a bit like Argos), you picked up your order from the cafeteria style lunch hall. I ordered a burger and nachos, as were eating out again later I didn’t want to over do it. The burger tasted amazing! Very messy, but so worth it.

This place was very laid back. You could take your time to eat, order rounds of drinks then when ready, you go and t-up to start your game. When you get there, you decide which size club you want. They also give you a set of rules, a score card and pencil. Never have I seen so many people take the rules seriously, adding extra points if you hit your ball out of range, or took more than 6 shots to land your ball into a hole.

Watching everyone play was quite funny. I didn’t expect to have so much fun, but it was! Some of the holes were challenging to make, especially the loop-the-loop hole. You could order drinks on the golf course, and the staff would bring them to you. This could be lethal if you're not careful, or add comedy to the game depending on which way you see it lol.

It is definitely something I’d go back and do, as it was a total laugh. I couldn’t spot anyone on the course that wasn’t enjoying themselves. I can’t wait to return again, and I would definitely recommend it for families, couples or just a group of friends no matter what age you are.
